Learning 3 different animal movements with a client. These 3 movements can give you a phenomenal workout!
When it comes to animal movements, you can get a very complete and effective workout with them.
These 3 animal movements will give you a complete push workout, the movements are:
- Monkey walk: will primarily target the shoulders among many other muscles.
- Komodo walk: will hit the chest, triceps, shoulders and hip muscles.
- Crab walk: will blast the triceps and shoulders.
All of these animal movements will also heavily develop your abs and obliques. You get an effective core workout on the side.
You will also develop body control, agility, mobility and flexibility which are needed in overall fitness, sports or martial arts.
In the monkey walk you will need to push in a slight vertical angle which develops the shoulders. In the komodo walk, you push horizontally. In the crab walk your arms are behind your body which will emphasize all 3 heads of triceps (even the long head!).
The versatile nature of movement training will ensure structural balance and great posture. This is because no muscle group get untouched and you develop strength in all range of motions and angles.
These 3 movements are only 3 out of 40 movements that are included in our Movement 20XX program. Each movement is demonstrated with a tutorial video to make them easy to learn.
Having an access to a spacious area is always an advantage, but movement training is easy to do in a small room as well: you just need to move back and forth to get all the steps in.
Now that it's summer, it's also easy to workout pretty much anywhere whether it's a beach or a grass area.
In the video we did the workout in a padded area, but it doesn't make a big difference whether the floor is soft or not.
The client Erik just started learning movement and he did a great job in a short time. Many movements are easy to learn, but mastering them will take years (which is great).
