When you follow someone else's lead for a long enough time, you will eventually catch up. This is the secret of follow-along training.
We all like to think we train hard but the reality is that this is all relative. There is always someone who trains harder but also someone who trains more intelligently and with a better technique.
In martial arts, you are always trying to find teachers or training partners who are better than you. In fitness, you need to do the same. That is to say if you really want to progress.
Only in fitness we see the ego where people say "I'm already training hard" or "My form is good" – but again, these are all relative and there is always someone who can help you to improve.
If you take a typical gym-goer and put him in the same conditioning workout with a professional athlete, the typical person would be shocked how hard the professional athlete is pushing himself in the workouts.
Likewise, in the presence of a good teacher, the teacher can often spot countless mistakes in the student's form. And just a week before the student thought he knew what he was doing.
Over the year we have gone to great lengths to find the teachers who have something to teach us. Many of them we have eventually surpassed but many we still continue to learn from.
For example, some people have compared Jiang Yu Shan to other masters on YouTube but unfortunately these other masters can only teach us superficial movements without the deep understanding of the body machine.
The other Qigong masters do not have the depth we want and need at this point of our development. We traveled the world for many years and haven't chosen the teachers lightly.
Mastering the Body and Fitness
There are many aspects of fitness to master. Some of them we have listed in the "3 Essential Areas to Master for Complete Physical Development".
All of these require different approaches and methods. In addition to this, we have added ancient Qigong that is truly an internal approach to the human body: practices that target the internal organs, neurotransmitters and hormonal systems among everything else.
Some training styles such as movement training require courage. Precision training requires patience and focus. Conditioning and strength endurance requires a relentless will.
In this new video, we touched on the benefits of strength endurance and conditioning. This is an area that a lot of people have neglected and disregarded.
However, if you have the desire and the will to complete the workouts, the changes in the body composition can be drastic and fast.
This is the type of training where follow-along workouts are absolutely necessary. You simply have to follow the lead of someone better to really push through the hard moments.
This is also the easiest way because everyone has a tendency to stay in their comfort zone. Even when people push themselves they only push themselves hard enough to feel something but not enough to transform their minds and bodies.
Follow the lead and you will eventually steal the gains of the leader. Do your best to keep up and eventually you will reach the same level. This is the secret of this type of training.
