Vahva Fitness Podcast Episode 3. Let's talk about the amazing things old school bodybuilders and strongmen can teach us. We will also touch on where core confidence and self-esteem actually come from.
There was a time when we read over 1000 different articles from the old school bodybuilders and strongmen of the last century.
In fact, a lot of these articles you can find from a less known blog called The Tight Slacks of Dezso Ban. At one point, we read nearly all of them.
We used to study these bodybuilders very closely from the popular ones such as Steve Reeves , Jack LaLanne, and John Grimek to less known masters such as Max Sick.
At the time, the amount of knowledge and wisdom they offered was priceless. Together with personal experimentation and study of the human body, we created Athlete 20XX Method to revolutionize the current state of fitness.
The old school bodybuilders were not like the bodybuilders of today. They focused beyond aesthetics and aimed to be as functional as possible. The hips, ribcage and breathing (vacuum) were all developed in addition to the muscles.
The old school bodybuilders mastered various advanced techniques such as mind-muscle connection. Many utilized high volume with light weights similar to what we do in Athlete 20XX Method.
Despite having no access to modern technology (performance enhancing drugs), they managed to build incredible physiques and also had health and functionality.
Many of the old school bodybuilders lived very long lives and didn't have heart attacks at the age 40 like many pro bodybuilders of today do.
In this today's podcast, we talk more about the priceless wisdom of old school bodybuilding.
