Traumatizing Hamburgers in the USA!

July 12, 2024 by VAHVA Fitness

We traveled to Las Vegas and California to eat hamburgers, chew bubblegum and do a TV project during the UFC's International Fight Week. Not everything was as we expected!

We had the opportunity to visit USA and do work for one of the largest paid TV provides in the UK called SkyTV.

We were invited to Las Vegas to teach a movement class for a popular British TV show Called “Rob and Romesh Vs” where two comedians test themselves in different sports and activities.

Their purpose was to create a UFC/MMA related episode with Leon Edwards and Michael Bisping (both current or former UFC Champions) and they wanted to include a class of movement training as well.

They did this because nowadays a lot of MMA fighters include movement training and animal movements in their training. They wanted to learn more about the benefits of this type of training in the scope of MMA.

So, they searched for the best teacher in the field and eventually Eero was hired to do a movement class for the show.

The class turned out very well and the team was amazed by the practicality and benefits of this type of training which was mostly foreign to them in the beginning. There were over 20 people present in the production team.

The comedians Rob & Romesh enjoyed the training and had a lot of good things to say. Romesh even joined Movement 20XX Method after the class because he was impressed by the class he had just completed with Eero!

It was an exciting and special opportunity to showcase the movement training to a wider public.

In UK, Rob & Romesh are celebrities (both have over 1M Instagram followers) and they have worked with many A-list celebrities such as Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt and many top athletes such as Usain Bolt, Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hall.

The series will air on Sky Max later this year so stay tuned for Rob and Romesh Vs!

Visiting An Insanity Asylum Disguised as a Burger Joint

las vegas

Las Vegas was an impressive place to stay to say the least. It was the most hyper stimulating high energy environment we had ever visited. You can easily lose your track of time there because 6 AM barely looks different from 6 PM!

We went to see the world famous David Copperfield and the show blew our minds although we could figure out some of the illusions and tricks during the show. We were still blown away by many other tricks!

One interesting place we visited was a burger restaurant called "Heart Attack Grill".

This place felt like a twisted fantasy. Inside, everyone needs to wear hospital clothing and the menu is possibly the worst possible food you can ingest.

Everything is as high calorie as possible and as unhealthy as possible. The smallest burger there has 2500 calories and the biggest up to 20,000 (you read that right). If you can't finish your food, they will spank you in front of everyone...

The place was originally created by a former doctor who didn't like fast food and who wanted to showcase how unhealthy this type of food actually is.

This restaurant is a place where obese people can go to get an heart attack and we are not kidding. The place has literally become a "Heart Attack" Grill.

heart attack grill

People who are over 350 lbs (160 kg) eat in this place for free and there's a scale for that purpose. People have already died in this restaurant due to a heart attack after eating the food!

Unfortunately, the biggest problem with the food was that it just wasn't tasty.

Both the bun and patty were dry and had no taste. We refused to eat the food and refused the spanking as well. We left the place but gave the server a good tip for being understanding.

In general, we had some good hamburgers in the USA but as a huge fan of burgers and someone who has traveled across the world, USA does not actually have the best burgers in the world.

You can find better burgers in Dubai, Europe and Australia. It likely has to do with the quality of the ingredients.

The quality of ingredients in Europe and Australia is just a lot higher due to the stricter regulations and less damaged soil. A lot of chemicals that are widely used in the food and agricultural industry in the USA are banned in Europe.

The unsustainable agricultural practices have caused severe soil erosion and degradation across the USA in many different states and this shows in the quality of the food.

This is a good lesson to understand that not only our health but the taste of our food is linked to the health of our environment.

In Finland, where we are from, and which is one of the cleanest countries in the world, all policies are done the environment and not just profit in mind.

This all being said, Americans know how to make tasty desserts. They might not be healthy but at least they taste good!

Amazed by the Nature of California

We started and finished our trip in California. We were impressed by the niceness of the people and the amazing nature of the state.

The beach, the mountains and the greenery: California truly has it all and the weather is also great depending on which area you stay in.

Before visiting Los Angeles, our expectations weren't very high. On social media, we have seen a lot of problems with homeless people and concerns with safety but we personally didn't experience much of this.

We had a blast in California and it was definitely worth the 11-hour jet lag we had to endure.

The world famous Venice Muscle Beach! This is where Arnold and the golden era bodybuilders used to train.

Whether it's LA or other cities in California, your experience can change dramatically depending on where you stay (in the USA there is a vast contrast between good and bad neighborhoods unlike in Europe).

We only visited some of the "worse neighborhoods" but didn't stay there. Stay in the nice areas and you will have a very pleasant stay. Overall we had a very positive experience of the USA and are looking to come back!

Stay strong!
